New Year's Eve drama

So, many of you may have wondered what the hell the whole facebook crap about New Year's eve was all about.

One of our friends was holding a party. I noticed the invite. Then poof out of nowhere, neither Michael nor I could access the party, and the party had gone completely private. We thought maybe the party was canceled, since it was nowhere to be found.
Find out from another person that it is still going on, and we've been uninvited.
Turns out it wasn't that friend, RPG, who uninvited us. Without his knowledge, my ex, Ben, had gone and made the party private and uninvited the two of us.

Around that time when we were still oblivious to this situation, I had offered to buy lyric tickets off of Ben for Marriage of Figaro. For one, it was somewhat of a charity offering- he didn't have enough money to fly back home with his family and that would have given him the money to do so. For another, I wanted Michael to see a damn good opera. So the exchange occurred but I found that he had give me tickets to not one but THREE different operas with no explanation. I went and passed him the money that I had agreed on beforehand for the tickets, with no word about the extra ones, waiting to see if he would say anything about them. Otherwise, I would have addressed it when I saw him in real life again tomorrow at Zoo lights.

Turns out- they were given to us as an apology for his actions. Note that not a word was said when they were given, and we were still uninvited, and the party was still private. It would have gone unnoticed if it wasn't for one of our other friends mentioning something about it.

Ben's excuse? He forgot to tell us. He forgot about the whole matter.

So Ben bribes us to keep quiet about his wrongdoing, and now is apologetic as hell about it. He kept refusing over facebook chat to take the tickets back. But he's getting the two extra pairs. Tomorrow. After repeating to him that we would not accept his "peace offering".
Only after writing to him via facebook that he NEEDS TO STOP HARASSING US did he actually shut the hell up.

I'm livid. He's the PRESIDENT OF JMAC. And he ACTS LIKE THIS.
Forgive him? No. No, not for this. I've gotten harassment from him before, about how he hates me, and shit talk to my face that led to many tears. But this is the last straw.

This past weekend was EPIC. The Distant Worlds concert was phenomenal. I totally pimped my signed bear there :P Pictures soon I swear! (I think I'll post to EGL, actually). Sunday we went to a cute pub called Paddy Long's (right off of Diversy) for Beer and Bacon tasting, curtousy of groupon.com. In addition to 5 different beers and 5 different bacons, we chowed down on cheese, mini cheesburgers, fried pickles and yumtastic fries. The service was mediocre, but the experience was fun.
Afterwards we got Michael some boots and got the crazy idea to check otu the Victoria Secret store on Michigan. Turned out they had a party going on with promotions and goodies and all that jaz, so we totally took advantage of it. Finally, new underwear :P
Yesterday was a slow day since sleep schedules have gone out the window. I did get quite a few goodies, and that is my eye candy contribution of the day!

The gorgeous Infanta OP. I remember when I got the VIP email from Qcute with a drawing of this. It's even more epic than the drawing. I definitely love this piece. The bow in front is detachable. It also came with a REAL fox fur muffler IN PINK!!!!!! He he he very excited about this. And it also came with a very cute headdress that matches. I cannot wait to wear it! I wish I could wear it Christmas eve, but I had opted to wear an evening dress instead of lolita. We shall see. This may end up being my New Year's eve dress.

After years and years, I finally have lolita boots :D Both are Miranda shoes and are pretty decent for their quality. And they fit, though they took my measurements as the very max instead of adding a little bit of leeway. I hate that most of the Chinese companies do that....

I managed to snag myself a pair of cheap Rose Chocolat shoes off of EGL_comm_sales in my size! Now I know what the quality of their shoes is like {attempts to control herself from buying some....}

That's all for now! More goodies on the way because I *just* got my other Qcute package with my two christmas dresses!! And I'm totally sporting one right now as I plan to play a little bit of Modern Warfare 2 (OBSESSED) and finish the Christmas dress! YAY SEWING FINALLY!!!!

An update of sorts

I am alive! I'm going to try to make a point of posting every day- I have a backlog of pictures I want to share so the next few entries will be visually appealing :P

For anyone who may be coming to my journal to check on packages- anything that was sold/paid for in the last week should hopefully be going out Monday or Tuesday.

I've been having an interesting time of it with the holidays :D I have been going out and staying in, doing things I've never done before and other things that are traditional. Fondue was had, tree was bought and decorated, and slowly but surely I'm working on a christmas JSK. I was going to wear it when JMAC went to Christkindlmarket.....but I did NOT finish it in time simply due to getting annoyed at ruffles. If only my ruffle foot actually worked/stayed on the machine. Something tells me I have to get the one specifically designed for Husqvarna Scandinavia. {facepalm} I'll actually go work on the JSK when I am finished with the post.

On the selling front- AP Princess Rose JSK and Cutsew are up on ebay for lower prices and my Puki Sugar is up for sale along with all of my Puki Puki sized furniture, clothes, and Volks, Dollheart, Dollzone shoes. I'll be putting up more lolita towards the end of the auctions.

I am no longer working at Lincoln Park Zoo so I'm searching around for a job. I hope to get a few of my ideas rolling along in the upcoming week to release screenprinted fabric at the end of the week :D So look forward to that!

I am officially done with shopping for Christmas. I was done when I went last Sunday to Macy's. You get more savings before Thanksgiving than you do on Black Friday. I'd blabber about the experience, but I'm dead. Long day, plus working on cleaning up the apartment (about half of my main room is finally clean, and you can tell where the cutoff is. It's rather funny) equals being very tired. At least I don't have much left. The bedroom is sorta clean...definitely need to continue working on that. But I honestly don't have the energy for it right now.
Clean the bathroom then right into bed.

So I finally have the dolls!

So what I DID get was the female Glot with an unblushed body, no faceup, unblushed hooves, horns, and resin wings, but with the seams removed, and outfit and wig. I also got the male Glati with blushed body, faceup, seams removed, blushed everything, with outfit and wig. The bodies are practically asexual, since they are Yo-SD sized, and well, they are kids. Same mold, whatnot.
So-
What I did was take the blushed body with the face up-ed head, restrung the hooves, attached the horns and took the female hair and outfit. Voilia, we have Lilith!

Notice her eyes- they are not the default eyes the doll came with (I didn't order the eyes). They are actually the limited edition doll Amber's eyes! I absolutely love them with Lilith. SOOO glad I went in on a split to get the eyes.

So finally after months of waiting, Yuuki has a little one she can hug.

I really really REALLY like the Yo-SD size. So I know I'm going to do one of a few things:
1) Hope that SOOM comes out with little fawns in a month with horns like Amber's. Then I buy one of the little suckers.
2) Attend another Volks party of some sort, and get a YoSD!
3) Save up pennies and win an auction on Y!Japan or Mbok of a Volks Yo-SD. I prefer #2 over #3 because I'm all about momentos instead of just buying a doll for the heck of it. Unless there is one I really adore, with the right faceup and all.

I AM OFFICIALLY PISSED.

At this point, other than one more dress with Qcute....I don't think I'm going to bother dealing with Chinese sellers anymore.
I just received two sets of shoes. They are SO nicely made. Really good quality compared to stuff that Blaek Saint put out, for example. These are the same ones that pancakebear sells, only through a different provider.
But. THEY ARE THE WRONG COLORS. I was supposed to get lavender and light blue.
I'm selling them....
So if anyone wants size 43 shoes (US 10.5-11)... I'm selling them for $45.

I keep losing the will the write. I've been out of sorts as of late, and haven't posted all the opportunities I had to share some good news. No idea why, just out of it.

The super short version.
I'm taking Abnormal Psychology at Depaul this winter. Mondays and Wednesdays I will be at LP on campus, Tuesdays and Thursdays I'll be at work.
I have yet to figure out if I have the minimum required art courses.
I have yet to find a human services/resources related job.
Applying to a few places to see if I can get seasonal work. Pro: Money. Con: inability to enjoy life.
My dolls are supposedly shipped. I have the tracking number, but no data has shown up yet.
I had my phone stolen on Friday while walking to the car a block from the opera house. Supposedly the new one came today but I have absolutely no idea how to program it, and no desire to try to figure it out this evening.
My place is an absolute pigsty. Disheartening that I have to attempt to clean it up myself. A little hard when I'm just out of it. And don't really care about pigsty (but what is EXPECTED of me is to have it clean, which is just f****n annoying)
What I owe my shopping service in JP is ending up being more than I expected.
There's no way I can afford to pay off the bear plush at crescent, and the doll. So I doubt I'll ever really be able to get the doll.
I bought clothes for the doll that I will probably never get.
I just keep gaining weight despite watching what I eat and exercise.
I've been dizzy at work all day, so I've gotten very little done.
I get this very bad feeling I won't get accepted for grad school. Then what. Then what do I do. Nothing is planned as a back up. And I don't want to hear it from my family, about how much I suck. Because that's all I've been feeling as of late.
Applying for jobs is never clean and efficient. And it has put me in a horrible mood. Because I'm realizing that I highly doubt anything is going to go for me in the future.

/end whining.

This is what happens when I stop taking zoloft, my place is a mess, and I feel like I have a bit too much on my shoulders. I think I'm just going to drop off the face of the earth if I don't get accepted into grad school. Because I do NOT want to deal with what I know I'll have to deal with coming from my mother.

Happy Tuesday!

I've gotten somewhere with the winter Abnormal Psychology course. I've currently received permission by the instructor to attend the class Mon and Wed 11:20-12:50! Now I'm awaiting on instructions on how to finish registering for the course. Hurrahs!

Tomorrow is a general catch up day. I need to:
1) Ship items out
2) Clean up a little
3) Start looking for something in the human services
4) Perchance look for a paid job by signing up in various places
5) and most importantly: MAKE SURE I MEET THE ART REQUIREMENT for the Art Therapy program. If I don't, I'm up a shit's creek without a paddle and will be hastily signing up for classes/selling lolita to afford it.

Which would blow because I'm currently working on losing the weight. Swimming ftw! I'm working on beating my exercise-induced-asthma crap to a pulp.
Goal? Size 8. I'm currently a size 12. Why? Because I'm going to take the promise my mum made to heart :D I will share when I'm there..... (so mom, remember that ^_^)

My dollie's payment was confirmed! I am now 1/3 of the way to owning her!!

Graduate Portfolio day at SAIC gave me some insight how to integrate my portfolio with my writing piece. I have a bit of work to put it all together, but at least I have a solid idea of how I'm going to do it.
I'm also thinking to apply to other schools as well. I cannot bank on just one for this. There are three including SAIC in Illinois. One probably won't work out for me, SAIC hopefully will, the other one is in Edwardsville. Which is by friggin St Louis. There' s another school in Milwaukee, which isn't too bad. There's a school in Detroit. There are MA in Art Therapy programs in the middle of nowhere SE of Champaign in IN and at University of Wisconsin in Superior, MI. That's basically it out of the midwest....
Sending my transcript over to DePaul so I could do Abnormal Psychology. I finally got some contact from them that wasn't them tossing me back and forth from one individual to the next without giving me any idea of what I had to do next. So hopefully if they accept eTranscripts, I will get confirmation of some sort within 3 days probably. If not, then within 2 weeks.

I'm pretty excietd about JMAC tonight. We are watching some Midory Days which is unbelievably cute. And FINALLY we are finishing My Boss My Hero. Next week I don't plan to go to JMAC, but plan to go to the Dir en Grey concert at the Metro. Still need to get tickets. Pretty excited about that!

I also received the Rose Melody coat. But they totally didn't take into account garment size vs body size in the bust and shoulders, so it's too small. Currently as it stands, I'll be sending it back and they will make it larger. I doubt I'll have it for my birthday. They want me to send it back to China via airmail, but I want it much faster than that, so I'm going to end up spending a lot more for this coat (+$50....) since I will not send it airmail. And they probably won't even be able to make it larger- there is no guarantee that they can get the fabric from the supplier, since technically the coat is sold out. It's ABSOLUTELY adorable though. If only it fit me. So hopefully....this will get fixed. Qcute is really trying to fix Rose Melody's mistake and are being extremely cooperative. Here's hoping!

Finally, I.....broke down and got another doll :D This time it's a Rosette doll from Soom (you'd think I wouldn't give them anymore money because of the stunts they are pulling with my tinies, but no....when they answered that the tinies will be shipped the 11th, I gave in....those Rosette dolls are to die for) I'm currently paying in layaway and awaiting confirmation of my first payment. Slowly saving up money for the next payment.

Her name is Sakura. She's the newest of the Rosette dolls, so she doesn't have quite a story about her in the "Cafeteria" section of the site like the others do. She struck me as the one I would bond best with because of her profile. She was born the 9th of April (spring girl!) and was born in Tokyo. Her department is Fine Art with elective subjects in Foreign Language and History. She wants to be a fashion designer and follows some inspiring mottos. First being "If at first you don't succeed, try, try again." Secondly, she says "Do what your heart desires. Life is short. Live large! That is the theme of my life." These mottos really hit home for me, so I felt that if I would only be able to have one Rosette doll, that it would be her. I love that I have a lot of the same ideas and follow the same train of thought as she does. Granted I'm not aspiring to be a fashion designer. However, both she and I aspire to achieve in life to not gain fame but to please others. She wants to design with the hope that others will like what she comes up with and enjoys it to its fullest. I hope to do something in life that will help bring a smile to people's faces.
That reminds me- I figured out why I like lolita so much. I don't wear it for the "supposed attention getting" that my family pushes on me. I wear it for the people who notice it and think "finally something different and original." I enjoy seeing that realization on people's faces. They need not say a word. Just a look from them that somehow I've brightened their day through my choice of fashion makes me love lolita even more.
The fashion is also a hellishly useful weed out tool. If someone doesn't take you seriously because of your clothes, you know not to associate with them, as they are not worth your time. If someone can take you as you are, fashion sense and all, then they truly can become your friends. Forget flattery. Forget the compliments. Acceptance is all that is necessary.
Or at least so I think.
I like it when someone can take you seriously because you have enough guts to show on the outside who you are as a person.
